Is this only for acrylic?
This course is taught with acrylic, but the lessons can also be used with oil or gouache. This course is not designed for watercolor.
What supplies do I need?
A handful. I have included a supply list with shopping links for you to use inside the course. You likely already have some of the supplies. We use just a few paints & tools, so it's easy for you to jump in and start painting!
Can't I just learn this stuff on Youtube?
There are a few different ways to learn how to paint well/with mastery. Paint Well is not the only way to learn this material. You can DIY by patching together tutorials on youtube and hope you learn enough of the pieces you need, you can join a large membership where you're digging through 300 hours of content and endless zoom calls hoping you find enough of what you need, you can go to art school for 4 years (lots of time and $$$$), you can attend multiple in-person workshops around the country (also expensive in time and $$$). All of these ways work to varying degrees. Inside Paint Well, I bring my experience as a 3x nationally awarded artist, years of teaching students both in the classroom and online, and my unique perspective as a busy mom who values SIMPLICITY. We focus on Impressionism, since I believe this combines the very best of realism with vibrant color & loose brushwork.
